Retailers face uncertain future in metaphysically analogous ‘detention camp’

Example of a radio script.

Southport retailers are likening continuous construction at their doorsteps to a detention camp, with them on one side-of -the fence, their customers on the other.

The one-point-two billion-dollar Gold Coast Light Rail project’s set to continue for the next twelve months, leaving some businesses facing an uncertain future.

Metal fences line half of Nerang Street, preventing access to once thriving shops and businesses, while all on-street parking’s disappeared.

Many long-time traders have already closed their doors, however, those remaining hope to survive long enough to see the completion of the project in 2013.

Asylum seekers in detention centers around the country were not able to comment due to strict legal issues but are likely united in solidarity with their equally hard-done-by comrades.
